Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Sunday we were over at my father-in-law's house for dinner. I noticed he had a baby exer-saucer in his garage. (He's garage is FULL of junk, but this time it came in handy) I think it was from his ex-wife, but since it was at his house he can do what he wants with it. So, I asked him if we could have it and he gladly gave it to us. If you know my father-in-law's ex-wife if she knew he gave it to us she will probably want it back now. In my old age I have come to the conclusion that I can't have everything new, which is the way I usually like to have things, but these baby exer-saucers can run $80-$100 and we just can't afford that, so I resigned myself to the fact that I need to reuse. Declan LOVES to stand and bounce up and down, so I've wanted to get him something like a jumperoo, but this exer-saucer is a great alternative. So we brought it home, I hosed it down and cleaned it up really well and Frebreze it as well. I figured out that some of the toys could come off, especially the fabric ones, so I can wash them, which makes me feel a WHOLE lot better. Declan had a great time bouncing in it today.

  3. Glad you can put that to good use. No need for new on things like that. Babies move onto new things so quick there's no need to spend a lot of money on a new one. Kathleen gave me a saucer she got at a garage sale when I was pregnant with Brandon and all my boys have loved it!

  4. Collin has LOVED his exersaucer (now he is too mobile to use it) that his Auntie Shanna gave us.... so yes, they go through toys so fast, I'm all about hand-me-downs. Love the pictures!
