How Many Baths Does One Boy Need?

Today, for my little Declan that would be 2, plus it was bath night last night. So in less than 24hrs that would be 3 baths and we'll see if he'll need another one by the time bedtime comes along. Why? You ask, well he have had some massive blowouts today. Well, it hasn't been a ton of poop, BUT he has been expelling it with such force and it has been really runny and liquidy that it has been coming out his diaper. So far with my miraculous butt paste concoction and prescription nystatin, we have so far avoided any breakouts on our bum, we'll see if it continues, especially with this kind of poop.
We started the morning with a bath, even before breakfast; he woke up all poopy, soaked through his pjs, blankets and onto his sheet with a stinky room.
Bath #1
Bath #2 was right after lunch before nap time.
Bath #2
He was really enjoying bathtime sitting in the water all by himself and splashing and kicking around.
Corin wanted to get in too to enjoy the fun of bath and bath toys

Biter Biscuits

So right before Christmas I bought some Gerber Graduates Biter Biscuits for Declan. (was thinking about putting them in his stocking for Christmas as his little "candy" treat like, but didn't) The box states, "Your child may be ready to use this product if he or she is at least 10 months and: crawls with stomach off the floor, may pull self up to stand, begins to self-feed with fingers, begins to use jaw to mash food." Well...Declan kind of does the last 2, however its hard when he doesn't want small bits of food and pushes them out with his tongue, and he's not quite 10 months, but whatever, I need to find different things to try with him to get him to eat real food and thought these were are a great thing to try because he can hold them and not gag on them like Puffs. So, tonight I gave them a try especially since I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make dinner since he wasn't happy any place but in my arms. So, I put him in his highchair and here are the results Mmmmmmmmm!!
The messier you get the better it is!

Thanks Matt & Jacque

I posted a blog previously here about Declan being excited about the box Matt and Jacque sent us our Christmas presents in and then we opened them on Christmas Eve. THANK YOU SO MUCH MATT & JACQUE. Its was SO nice of you to send each of the boys their own gift and even a gift certificate to Chili's for Shane and I to have a date night, which is much needed.

Corin was VERY excited about the Toy Story Memory Game. He said, "Thank you Matt & Jacque I like Buzz Lightyear!" Corin had a great time playing the game today.

Thanks Auntie Allison

On Christmas Eve we always open a few presents. We get our Christmas jam-jams and open the presents from extended family members. Here is what Auntie Allison gave the boys. She is SUCH a great friend and is SO sweet to get the boys things. She always does a GREAT job at picking out toys the boys the will love and super cute clothes.
THANKS AUNTIE ALLISON!

Today we wore one of the shirts Auntie Allison got us.And Corin had a blast in the tub with his new bath toys.

Making Santa Cookies

SO we FINALLY got to making cookies for Santa today. I honestly didn't think we were going to get any made. Here is Corin making cookies "all my himself" with the rest of the dough. The good ones were in the oven cooking.
Of course you ALWAYS have to try the dough
Because of our choices today, we didn't get frost them for Santa, even though I did make frosting. Hopefully Santa will look in the fridge to find the frosting and do it himself.

Mmmmm, Chocolate

Shane picked up some ingredients from my mom for Christmas Eve dinner. I thought I'd give Declan a Chocolate chip (Ghirardelli baking chocolate chips are bigger than regular) Ohh my goodness, he had hay-day sucking on it and was mad when it was all gone! He is definitely our child, Corin as well LOVES chocolate and they are dark chocolate (60% cocoa) which we LOVE as well.

Parental Favoritism

My recent thoughts have been turned to parental favoritism of their children. I know some friends have expressed to me that they feel their parents have a favorite(s) of their children and I agree that it does happen and feel the same way. So, as a parent of children now I want to try and avoid this so my children don't have the same feelings that I do, but I don't know how to go about it. So, please share your ideas, thoughts and words of wisdom with me. I want to start it at this early age and also make it a habit for myself. Thanks!

29th Street Mall

Last night we went to the 29th Street Mall in Boulder with some dear friends of ours for the some FREE (gotta love free) festive activities. Prior to going Anne made dinner, which was super nice of her since our budget is meeger so we ate, chatted then we were off.
2 of Santa's reindeer were there Corin and Hannah! They have loved each other since birth.Declan even had his share of fun. I think he enjoyed seeing Santa's reindeer too, he got all excited and happy! They had carriage rides too!
It was cold so we tried to stay covered up, but Declan kept kicking off his blankets and shaking off his "hand socks" as we call them. Those baby mittens, but have no thumb hole. However, he stayed happy for quite a while.
Corin thought that the carriage driver was Santa. They guy had on a Santa hat and did have a nicely trimmed, white beard and mustache. He told Harold that Santa drove horses.
