Apparently, its a dramatic experience to eat rice cereal
Lately, Declan's attitude towards eating has been this. He crabs about eating it for quite a while, then resigns himself to the fact that he has to eat some of it. 
Tonight I did make it with more water than formula, but last night it was made with formula and he still was crabby. 
I've been considering diverging from my "food schedule" of what I did with Corin and start 1st foods earlier to see if that helps Declan like food. I think I'll try different cereal first. Corin's favorite was the Barley, which I didn't see at Target when I went, just Rice and Oatmeal.

We'll see if that helps, but I think he is just a bottle lovin' baby. After his cereal this evening, I gave him a bottle and he was completely happy. I'm predicting that I am going to have a hard time weening Declan off the bottle when the time comes. Corin was SO easy. Sometimes I do feel like I'm a new Mom all over again, because things that worked with Corin don't work with Declan, I'm learning all over again.

Quin has only eaten his cereal well a few times, too. I was wondering, too, if he just didn't like it... I want to try another cereal in a week or two if he doesn't start doing better. I'm sure you know this, but one thing that helps is to feed him between feedings, when he could eat but he's not starving, you know? I feel like a new mom all over again, too, and I'm on my third for cryin' out loud! lol Good luck and let me know what works - I may have to try it. :)

ReplyDeleteJami-Thanks, I'm glad someone else is having the same problems and feels the same way, makes me feel like I'm not alone. I do think one of the issues with Declan being so crabby about eating his cereal is that he is super hungry and it takes work to eat it since he gets it in the evening and right after his long nap.
