Arr Arr Me Mateys Chic-Che

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Our theme this year was Pirates.

Before Halloween Corin talked about being a Pirate and it stayed that way so I thought Declan could be the Parrot! I thought it was a totally cute idea and everyone who saw them thought it was cute too!

We were over at my parents house for dinner celebrating my little brother's 20th birthday, which was on the 29th. After dinner we got the boys dressed in their costumes and went trick or treating. We only did about 5 houses on my parents street and Corin was done. Declan took to trick or treating quickly and loved it! He'd say "chic-che" and hold out his basket.

When we got back to my parents house Declan threw a huge fit because he wanted to stay out and also wanted to get into his candy. We left and did do a few houses on our own street. As Shane was leaving for his morning church meetings our neighbor asked if he'd see our little trick or treaters tonight so of course I wanted to take them over to show them off. Another neighbor sets up a "haunted house" Its just a path through his lawn with a inflatable grimreaper archway, scary music, lights. Corin wanted to go so we did and we hit another house that Corin wanted to go to that had stuff set up in their yard and just a few more than he was done again.
Declan threw another huge fit! Of course I had to take a picture of it!

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Today was Corin's preschool Halloween party! He was very excited for it and we obeyed Ms. Pam's rule by bring not wearing our costume. I showed up at his school a bit after 10:45am to help him put on his costume and be there for the festivities. When I got there he told me that he's tummy hurt. I asked him if he wanted to go home and he said no he wanted to stay for the party. I said fine and got him dressed. He was acting alright though he was looking a little pale. He sat in circle with his classmates and sang Halloween songs. I have to say that he has been doing SO much better at telling me what he's done at school and he'll remember and sing the songs at home, which last year he could care less about them. As we were standing in line to get some of the snacks he puked! Yep, all over the floor and it his a father's shoe as well! I was SO embarassed. I had Declan in the stroller (thank goodness) and sent Corin to the bathroom (they have one in there classroom) so I could help Ms. Pam and Ms. Linda clean up the mess. I thought he puked because he was hot, because he's done that before. The classroom was a bit warm, but he costume is fairly light weight. Well, he puked again in the bathroom on the floor. Yep, didn't make it to the toliet or sink! So, Ms. Linda sat him by the open back door that leads to the playground while we cleaned up the mess. He was really sad to come home (he thought he was in trouble) but Ms. Linda put some of the snacks in a bag to bring home. After we got home he was pretty fine. He ate an applesauce cup and some toast, then watched a movie. After the movie he ate another applesauce cup then I put him in bed for rest time. He didn't nap and was acting completely fine. So once Shane got home we played the Wii and then got ready to go to the Ward Trunk or Treat. He was totally fine until we pulled into the parking lot. He said "I want to go home" and puked again! We got him out, cleaned him up as best as we could, but he was really upset we had to leave and not go to the church party.

Making a funny face (It goes with one of his Halloween songs)
Declan didn't get a nap so he crashed on the couch and in the car.

Pumpkin Craving

Our FHE tonight was craving our pumpkins

Declan was upset that he couldn't reach the action from sitting in a chair so...
I sat him on the table. He REALLY enjoyed this and maybe a bit too much. He was all over the table and not really, at times interested in the pumpkins, just excited to be sitting on the table! I think this might be problematic because he'll want to always be on the table from now on.

 Cleaning out the pumpkin innards

Declan had fun playing in the bowl of pumpkin guts!

Now onto the faces

I needed some inspiration and Declan was there to give me some
He also let me know what facial features I needed and where they are

I was on face drawing duty.
Corin also let me know what kind of shaped eyes, nose and mouth I should make.
(I'm definitely not an artist like one of my former college roomies, but oh well the boys enjoyed them)
Now onto craving

Our Jack-O-Lantern creations!
(it was WAY too windy to put candles in them so hopefully we'll be able to soon)

In Search of the Great Pumpkin

A great perk of Shane's new job is that he gets to set his own hours, so he can be home in the mornings or come home early on days if needed. Well we used this to our advantage to take the boys to the pumpkin patch this morning. It was GREAT! We got there and no one was there since we got there 30min after it opened and it was a Tues! As we were leaving to the field and driving to do the hay bale maze we saw people coming in and groups from schools and day cares. Have I ever told you how much I LOVE digital cameras?? I took over 200 pictures today and I didn't care so I can get many shots and pick the best ones, which is so great because I need it with my wiggly boys not wanting to sit still for a picture or one is looking and the other isn't or just the goofy faces that are made, but also because of this I really could capture their personalities.

They had a GREAT time just walking all over the field. They could have stayed in there forever!

Checking out the pumpkins, trying to find just the right ones we want

No Corin we can't get all those pumpkins

Declan was trying with ALL his might to pick up
the pumpkins

It wouldn't be complete without Declan trying the dirt

Searching for just the right pumpkins is hard work

We told Declan to put his face in and he put the top of his head in the hole. Shane helped him and he got it. It was just SO funny!

Wha' Up Homey

I pulled out the 18month clothes because Declan's 12month pants were high-waters and it is getting autumn outside (FINALLY!) Well, they are still a bit big so they slide down his bum! Then once they get down far enough he just pulls them off.

Mmmm Peanut Butter!

For lunch the past few days we've been having peanut butter since we are out of turkey, cheese and mac & cheese.

Yesterday he dipped his green beans into his spoon of peanut butter

It reminded me of when Corin was about this age, July 07, eating peanut butter

I LOVE these pictures of Corin!

Lil Climber!

Declan is SUCH a climber! I don't remember Corin when he was little ever climbing on everything, he mostly would climb in things;clean out the bookshelf and climb in, laundry baskets, boxes, etc.
