I HEART Mega 10

I seriously LOVE when King Soopers does the Mega 10 Event (hopefully Smith's is doing it so my sisters in Utah can partake in the great deals)! They have SO many items on sale that can be combined with coupons for some awesome deals! And that is exactly what I did tonight. I'm not going to go into the details of the coupons I used, etc since I got 50 items.
SPENT: $49.14
SAVED: $140.66

The Halls Cough Drops (plus overage), Playtex Living gloves and 4cans of Evaporated Milk=FREE!!

The Campbells Soups aren't part of the sale, but they were on sale and with my coupon I got them for $1/can.
Apparently, after looking at my receipt, the Land O Lakes spreadable butter I picked up wasn't the correct one that was part of the sale (that is the reason when my 2nd transaction went through I had to go get 2 more items, so I picked up the juice, to make my 20 items. I was told that you can only have 3 per transaction), but I feel bad returning it because it will have to be thrown away and I thought that I looked at the correct tag to make sure it was the correct on, but I guess it wasn't. Even though I made that mistake I still think I did pretty good with the first receipt saving 74% and the second 76%. My freezer is stocked with veggies, and quick veggies at that since they are the microwave steam bags and quick dinners, especially for Tuesday night since I have to go to Mutual.

The Effects of Reading

Awhile ago my brothers were doing a major cleaning and reorganization of the basement at my parents house. My mom still had ALL the books from when we were younger so I went through them and took the ones that I wanted. One that came into my possession was King Bidgood's in the Bathtub by Audrey Wood and illustrated by her husband Don Wood. It is a Caldecott Honor Book. It was Adam's favorite book when he was a kid and Corin LOVES it as well.

Snow Fun with Daddy

School was cancelled for Shane today due to the snowstorm, so he was home with us for the morning!! He had to dig out the car since it was buried over the night in snow and Corin was excited for both daddy being home and the snow so he went out as well to have some fun!

After Shane finished digging out the car him and Corin played.I'm not sure who had more fun jumping in the snow...
It is SO deep!
Declan and I stayed warm inside the house. I actually was still in my pjs, not appropriate attire for the snow, but we watched them out the window.

SNOW

We got a HUGE snowstorm starting last night and its not even finished yet. So, what better thing to do for the first snow than to go play in it.
I didn't put Declan in it, but I found this hat and thought I'd just put it on him for the fun of it. While Corin played I wrapped Declan up and held him for a bit outside than brought him back in where he played in his saucer. I had to go back and forth between the house and the backyard to keep an eye on both boys.
Pippin LOVES running through the snow too
Crawling through the snow.
The sandbox is somewhere under all this snow.
There is something in the buried in the snow, lets dig it out to see what it is
A basketball.

Having fun just sitting in the snow and kicking it around. He didn't like the snowflakes in his face too much, he is trying to blow them off since he can't wipe them off because his mittens are too snowy.
Snow SlidingIt's fun on our tummy too!!

We came inside, changed our clothes and made a yummy, warm chocolate drink
with marshmellows!!

Trunk or Treat

Koala up a Eucalyptus Tree!
(its real eucalyptus)
The Aussie caught a Koala! Corin decided to wear his doggy costume for the Trunk or Treat party! It went perfectly with the rest of our family costumes! I wasn't really planning on it be a family Australian theme, but it was fun that it worked out that way.
The Aussie's herding dog!
(we couldn't call him a Dingo because they have pointy ears)
Carnival Games
FishingPlunkoDonut on a String
Since it was snowing outside we couldn't do the trunk or treat, so we did it in the gym! It was SO crowded that Shane had to hold Corin up over all the kids in front so we could get his candy. It was 2 wards plus our Primary has about 100 kids and then we have 2 nurseries!

Jack-U-Lanterns

Tonight we carved our pumpkins
First we had to dig out the seeds
And put them in a bowl.
Trying to shake off the pumpkin guts off his hands.
All finished, well at least according to CorinMaybe the scoop will work better.
Then it was time to carve!! Corin wanted circle eyes, triangle nose, ears and triangle teeth.
He was very proud of how his jack-u-lantern turned out!

It's Pumpkin Patch Time!

Even though we had a cold spell and it made the pumpkins freeze, we still decided to go because it was a fun, FREE family outing.
There were actually more good pumpkins in the patch than we thought there would be.
Corin had a GREAT time walking through the patch and looking at all the different pumpkins. I think the best part for him was finding all the "yucky" pumpkins that had frozen and gone all smooshy and stepping on the already broken ones.
Walking through all the weeds and plants.
Photo opp. in the pumpkin patch.
Corin picked out his very own little pumpkins.
We finally found the 2 we wanted.
Another photo opp. how could it be resisted?? They had farm animals to look at.
Ooops, the sign says not to touch, oh well. It is hard for a 3year old to resist.
Hay Bale Maze. He walked on the top of the hay bale perimeter.
Ta-Da I did it! Made it all they way around. Finding our way through the mazeI go this way?
Then we played hide-and-seek in the maze. Corin was using his binoculars to keep a look out.
Found you!
Found you again!!
Another photo opp. They had this whole area set up for photos. I was SO irritated with people! We waited our turn while others were taking photos, but they didn't have the curitosy for us to get there kids off so we could take our pictures, so most of them I had kids heads in the way! Also, I couldn't get in the place I wanted by the scarecrows, because of the kids climbing all around! I also thought when they saw Shane and I put the boys up there they would tell there kids to move, but no! At least I got a few cute shots. Corin was getting tired of sitting up there taking pictures, he wanted to play.
I had bought some special treats with us to eat at the pumpkin patch, but I forgot til we got home so we ate them in the front yard. (YAY for coupons to get candy for FREE!!)
No more pictures Mama!
Declan had a fun time playing in the leaves! And of course the taste test!
