Beach Front Property??

If only we could afford to have beach front property,
but alas, we don't so we have to make our own.
Last week we had some great thunderstorms and our sandbox (Thanks Desi for the great, cheap idea) got filled with water since we forgot to cover it.
Corin had such a fun time playing in it today.
After the fun in the wet sand and water,
he couldn't come in the house like that,
so then he played with the hose!

Here is what Declan did while Corin had fun playing with the hose.

Gardening: Do We Have A Green Thumb?

When we bought our house almost 3yrs ago the lawns were in terrible shape. Over the years we have been working to ressurect them into something decent. The grass this year is looking great; green and lush, even if there are still some annoying weeds creeping through it. As with many things it is still a process and also we have to take it one small step at a time because we don't have the means to do it all at once. Well, in our backyard, there is this area along the back fence that was absolutely terrible with crazy amounts of weeds and TALL crab grass. There is actually a metal piece in the lawn that divides it from the rest of the lawn, so we figured at one point it may have been a garden area...a huge garden area! So, why change it, was our thought?

This year we decided to try out our green thumb and make a small garden. This area is going to take tons of work because it is seriously all clay (Yes, I know, I live in Colorado, of course there is going to be clay) so we (actually Shane) dug a hole and put nice, rich soil in it for our garden.

So, with the small amount of funds we had we made our own garden area and planted tomatoes, green beans, cucumber and red peppers plants and zucchini and onion seeds.
We got some fencing and just made a temporary fence around it so Pippin and Corin wouldn't get into it. One day it will be perfect, but for now we do with what we got and can afford.

The Simple Things

We made Corin a sandbox to play in, but this is where he likes to play instead

Tis the Season for Sprinklers!

The past two days have been HOT, so today when we were outside I decided we needed to cool off with playing in the sprinklers. It was a last minute decision, so Corin just kept his clothes on. It was probably best anyway so he didn't get sunburned.
Corin's shorts are a bit big, so as they got wet and than soaked they kept sliding down and he had to pull them up.

Blogging Digression

As I mentioned in my post today entitled "Backlogged" I was wondering if I would get any blogging done today, which I got a few done, which is better than nothing. Corin did sleep, guess going outside all week and not napping the previous days finally caught up with him.
And Declan...well here are the pictures of how it went.

After he took his pacifier for a bit it was feeding time again (I felt like I had just fed him, but after I thought of what time I did feed him it was 4hrs previous)
So, as of how Declan is asleep in his crib (YAY!! That is a rarity for the day time) but now Corin wants me to do puzzles and read with him, so alas I am done with blogging.

Spring has Sprung!

This week has been BEAUTIFUL weather and we have spent the late morning and afternoon outside doing all sorts of things. I even sat outside to feed Declan and he as well enjoyed the nice weather, sometimes though when the breeze came up his little bottom lip would quiver, its so cute!
Filled the pots with dirt
So we could plant flower and herb seeds.

Watered the seeds and tomato plants
(Hopefully we can get the garden area finished so they can be planted)

Played on our slide, crawling thing and sandbox!

Relaxed on the porch with a nice cool glass of water.

Even Pippin enjoys the nice warm weather. He actually just enjoys being outside but more so when it is nice.

Backlogged

So, I am sitting here at the computer with a fussy Declan on my lap and Corin eating lunch and realizing that I am SO backlogged on blogging. I have many things I want to post pictures and write about and I haven't had a complete moment to do it, so hopefully this afternoon all goes well; Corin will either nap or not completely terrorize his room (there can be a lot of banging and crashing noises coming from upstairs during nap time) and Declan also naps and especially naps on his own and I don't have to hold him so I can get some of my blogging done. I'll be posting them on the days they occurred so you will have to scroll through them.
Stay tuned!

Like Mama's

Last Tuesday (4/28) while Shane was gone to Utah for Grandpa Norberg's funeral I broke my 4th toe on my right foot. Of course, it had to happen while Shane was gone, I was grateful that my mom was off of work that day to watch the boys while I went to the doctor's. Declan had a bad night that Monday, so I went to get him at 7AM and hit my foot on the bedroom door and stubbed it as well just right so it broke. The top of my toe was bent to the right!
A few days ago Corin had a little blister on the underneath side of his toes and kept saying that it was broken like Mama's toe so he needed it taped up.

Of course it didn't stay on too long. I wish I could take mine off.
