Air Show

Today we went to the Air Show at the "Jeffo Airport" We got FREE tickets from a former Target co-worker of Shane's. He LOVES Corin and thought Corin would really enjoy it! His name is Clark and he is a big guy. One day when we were checking out Corin says to him "You have a BIG tummy" I was embarassed and apologized to Clark for it. Clark responded by laughing saying "Its totally fine. He's honest and right. I did this to myself" This was our first weekend of Shane having his new job and having weekends completely free so we took FULL advantage of hanging out together as a family in the morning. Previously Shane would have to work on Sat. at Target til 12:30pm so if we ever did anything on Sat. it was in the afternoon, which didn't always work well because the boys would be crabby and also Shane was so tired from working and being up at 3AM that he really didn't want to do anything, but would do something if I really wanted to.
As we were walking from our parking spot to the Airport planes were flying. Corin kept asking if he could fly one so we talked about when he got bigger and when to Aviation school he could fly one. He was very excited to see all the different planes. Some of them he was even able to get into.

Marines troop transport plane, I think. Adam would probably know much more about it.
Just a big open space with jump seats.

Corin absolutely LOVED sitting in this Air Force glider! He could have stayed in this ALL day!
The guys were SO nice! They talked to Corin and told him all about how it works and what all the controls did. Maybe Corin will join the Air Force one day. He did say he wanted to fly a plane.

We saw this big Marine blow up balloon. Shane told Corin that is what Adam is, a Marine. And Corin replied "Uncle Adam's a balloon."

Soviet Mig 15
I told Shane we should have brought some chairs (even though it would have been a pain to carry them around and who knows how long we would have actually sat in them) and his response was "Who needs chairs when you have a Daddy"
And the ground and stroller! Sadly the only pictures I got of Declan was during a snack as we watched the planes flying overhead and doing tricks. It was crowded so I would have gotten nervous with him walking around by himself and trying to run aways and it would have been a HUGE fit to get him back in the stroller if we would have taken him out to go inside the planes. So, we just left him in since he was happy riding around. Once he's in, don't take him out. He did keep pointing at the planes when they were in the air!

Daddy's Little Boy

This can sometimes equal Mommy's Little Monster because every time Declan sees Shane leave it is a full blown temper tantrum!! This is exactly what happened yesterday when Shane left for work. When Shane is home, Declan wants to be with him and follows Daddy around. So of course, being Mom I wanted to get some pictures for posterity sake!

These temper tantrums are not just limited to Shane leaving. I put the vacuum away and Declan threw a tantrum at the garage door because he wanted to vacuum back so he could play with it.

Pots Cabinet

Both of my boys have loved to play in the pots cabinet and I would say that Declan loves it the most! He is tenious about it. If I am standing in front of the cabinet making dinner he gets so angry because he can't get in. There is so many things that this cabinet is used for.

Of course it is used for "cooking"
Its a great, quiet place to read
(can't see the book too well, its in his lap)
good place to lay your head down to take a rest
And a great place to eat snack

I was serious getting tired of him playing in the pots and Corin would want to play too and crawl in the cabinet as well (he did when he was little) Also I have a tiny kitchen, cooking dinner was difficult with both of them under foot.
SO I solved the problem
I went to Good Will yesterday and bought some pots and a few mixing spoons for CHEAP!!
HOORAY!! Now they can cook too!

Here are some pictures of Corin with the pots when he was younger

TXT

Declan loves phones! He loves to talk on them. Well I captured these pictures of him that look like he's texting. He actually could be imitating, because I love to text! Declan is a huge imitator so I'm not surprised.
I LOVE the facial expression!

Monster Zucchini

As my sister-in-law so wisely informed me last year when I was growing zucchini that as long as the zucchinis weren't hard that I could let them grow big to get lots of shredded zucchini out of so I could make lots of loaves of zucchini bread. So, that is exactly what I did! Shane doesn't work at Target on Thurs. mornings so before he left for UPS he went out and picked the monster zucchinis.
For now, just 2 zucchinis, but I just LOVED all these pictures of Declan so I wanted to post all of them!

I LOVE the look of wonder on Declan's face as he discovers the top of the zucchini and explores the texture. He expresses so much in his little face!

While Corin and Shane were outside picking the zucchinis they watered. I heard Shane tell Corin that he could water, but not to get wet. My thinking was "yeah right" and I was correct. He got wet and than because he watered a little to much in a spot he got his shoes muddy then slipped. Shane took off his shirt and then let him play more with the hose, his favorite way to play in the water! It was getting hot and what better place to get a drink, quite convenient too!
