Back to School

Today Corin started back to school after his winter break. Yes, his preschool got a winter break, they keep with the same schedule as Jeffco Schools (well he started back on Mon and the regular schools started back on Wed, maybe they did it so the little ones would have their normal 2 days of school). So, we decided to go back in style by wearing the sweater Auntie Allison gave him for Christmas. However our day at school wasn't great. He hit a little girl, Amy, with a toy! I asked him why and he said "I don't know, I hit Amy." GREAT, just great! So, it was a frustrating day. He doesn't get to play MarioKart Wii or Galaxy til Wednesday (the next day he has school) and only if he is good. We had a long talk about hitting and had to call Daddy to tell him what he had done. I personally don't think he is a mean kid, or a bully. I know he can be rough sometimes.

Wed: Well, he was good at school today, still his active self and still had a hard time staying on task and listening, but didn't hit anyone. He said sorry to Amy and tried to give her a hug, but she wasn't into that and I told him that he didn't need to (at home when he says sorry he gives hugs and kisses to make it better, guess we are going to have to learn that at school we don't do that) and told Ms. Sophia that he was going to be a good guy. He earned his sticker from Ms. Sophia. When I was dropping him off I heard a little girl say to her dad, "That's Corin, he always gets in trouble" Great, now I have the kid that others know of as the trouble maker. I did actually start to tear up because I don't want to have that kid. Ohhh...my challenge.... I talked to Amy's Mom and told her sorry that he hit her and she was totally fine. She said that Amy can get into people's faces and she thought that may have been the case and he didn't like it. She said when she talked to Amy at home and Amy wasn't answering her questions that it had to be the case and Amy didn't want to tell her. I'm relieved that Mom was okay and that there are no hard feelings.
