HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Corin and Hannah with Butterscotch hard candies in there mouth. Quedoba was there and they had a pinata, however they didn't get a chance to hit it. Once it broke the other kids swarmed the candy on the ground. Corin and Hannah were on the outskirts of the circle of children. Once it cleared Corin reached down and picked up a few of the leftover candies and gave one to Hannah. It was so cute, Corin had the candies in his little cupped hand with the other hand over it making sure not to lose the few he had. Anne and I talked as we walked back up the hill to our spot about how grateful we were that our children didn't swarm the candy like the others and especially that they didn't take try to take as much as they could, kids Corin and Hannah's age were also swarming along with older kids, so it wasn't just the older kids that were doing this. The parents of these kids were ridiculous as well, encouraging their children to get more. I wil make sure Corin doesn't become one of those types of kids and of course I am not that type of parent. He will get just a few, not see if he can be a pig and take it all. I will say on the positive side, that I girl probably around 8-10yrs saw that Corin didn't have many and she gave him one, which was SO sweet of her and she only had a small handful herself.

Declan all wrapped up in his carseat since it was a bit chilly.

Our friends, Anne, Harold and Hannah-Boo spent Independence day with us and we had a lot of simple fun. They come over to our house at 4pm and it was raining, actually pouring, which was a total bummer. So, we hung out for a while. Corin laid a big kiss on Hannah and she got so upset with him and pushed him away telling him No and put her hands on her hips (or more like her armpits) it was SO funny (of course I didn't have the camera ready) and Corin didn't understand why she was upset. They had fun playing together. Anne and I went to Subway to get our sandwiches which we had planned on getting. When we left it was still a steady light rain, but on our way back it had stopped, so we headed over to the City Park Rec Center. They have lots of open grassy area to play and a fountain (but it was too chilly for the kids to play) The damp grass didn't dampen Corin and Hannah, they had so much fun just running in the grass and we also brought a soccer ball for them to play with. We ate our sandwiches and and brought fruit and snacks as well to eat and share. It was such a great, relaxing time with friends and simple!! We watched the fireworks show which Corin loved and Declan didn't do too bad either, of course he was getting tired as well. He stayed mostly wrapped up in blankets in his carseat and stroller since it was chilly. Shane was getting Corin in his carseat for the ride home he said, "I want to go to bed." We weren't even out of the parking lot before he had crashed (he didn't get a nap, which didn't help as well since he was so excited to see Hannah-Boo)
